The SPOT RT is a "three pass" charge coupled device (CCD) digital color camera suitable for taking still photographs of a particulate sample. The SPOT RT is cooled to 37 C below room temperature to reduce thermal noise inherent in CCD devices. The microscope has a nominal resolution of 0.42 um at the highest magnification. It is equipped with dual light sources for both transmitted and reflectance imaging. It can be operated in the bright field, dark field, and differential interference contrast (DIC) modes. Objectives from 2 - 100x (dry) are available.
